To know me is to know that I believe in the power of sharing your story and your journey transparently. I do not think that everything we go through is for us, we are meant to be a living example of GOD GRACE, MERCY, & how AMAZING he is.
About a year ago I woke up with the intent to complete some task. But before getting my day started I logged into Facebook as most of us do, I watched a live video that was shared in a group I was a part of. That video was of a woman I had never met before Ms. Shantelle Evans talking about her missing child and the measures she was taking to try and bring her home without the help of local officials, though she had reached out to many. As I watched I became emotional. I could see the pain in her eyes and hear the frustration in her voice.
As the year continued on I had a pleasure of meeting Ms. Shantelle at a few different events but we never connected on a personal level. I started hearing more and more stories involving human trafficking, suicide, bullying, gun violence and so many other topic affecting the youth. I started researching sex trafficking more. I was captivated by the gruesome reality that young adults and vulnerable children were being forced to have sex, at the expense of someone else's greed and lust. I became angry, I was devastated. I knew we lived in a evil world but this, this was crazy to me and it hit different. I listened to stories of survivors, watched mothers cry. To hear and see their pain, to listen to what they was forced to do, it was not okay with me. No one should ever, ever be subjected to that kind of life. Sex is precious, it's a gift given by God, To be shared between a husband and wife or two people in love. No one should have that gift taken from them.
Finally Ms. Shantelle and I was able to connect. She invited me to attend her event that her organization Unique Blessings was host the Let's Heal Together second Gala in honor of domestic violence and sex trafficking. It was after that event I knew more needed to be, to reach the youth.
This is how The Save The Youth Tour was created.
The Save The Youth is not only for the youth, its lead by the youth. This tour is not a one time in and out we plan to be make an impact on each city we visit let them know they can reach out to us after we leave. This tour will bring valuable resources and provide awareness to the youth and public regarding Sex Trafficking, Gun Violence, Bullying, Suicide, Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Teen Dating, Open Missing People Cases and so much more. I ask that you join me in our fight to save the youth one city at a time.
Stay tuned for more to come as I introduce the team behind the tour and so much more about The Save The Youth Tour (STYT)
