I’ve been talking back-and-forth for a few days with Mrs. Yani Dyckes, someone sent me her event that she is hosting in Charlotte, NC for teen girls. As I got to know her I learned she is currently competing for the title of Mrs. North Carolina 2020.

Mrs. Yani is a wife and mother of three energetic teenagers. She has been modeling for more than 10 years, and graduated from The Art Institute of Charlotte with a degree in Fashion Marketing & Management. Mrs. Yani is extremely passionate about empowering young girls in under-served communities by creating opportunities for them to develop their self-esteem.

In 2017, life presented her with a set of challenges that she felt would tear her life apart. She didn’t know at the time those challenges were actually opportunities to face her fears. As she started to peel away the layers of fear that she had grown comfortable wearing, she realized that she did not have a mature understanding of the meaning of self-esteem and empowerment.

That revelation led her on a journey to find out who she really was. What resulted was a complete paradigm shift in her mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Suddenly, she realized how important it was to love herself unconditionally. She is now on a mission to reach as many girls as possible with this same message.

Mrs. Yani's goal is to inspire and empower girls to break barriers and take up space by learning to use the power of their voice, and leverage the value of their everyday choices. Her event Queens in Training is a safe space for young women ages 12-17 to build character and grow their self-esteem. She’s given young women the tools needed to grow their interpersonal skills, increase their self value and express who they are. They will discuss Self-Esteem, Self- Care, and boundary setting. They will also enjoy a delectable lunch provided by the Duke Mansion. She will have giveaways, games and lots of fun.

Don't wait to get your tickets, this event WILL SELL OUT.  Please consider purchasing and donating a ticket to a young lady who may want to go but the finances are not available.

In addition to hosting the Youth Empowerment Brunch, Mrs. Yani  would love to gain your financial support as she move toward her ultimate goal of becoming Mrs. North Carolina 2020. If it takes a village to raise a child, it will take an ENTIRE COMMUNITY of friends and family to help achieve her dreams. With pageant fees, dresses, shoes, and a myriad of other expenses, her journey will be costly. However, the investment in helping her set the stage to inspire girls is a gift that keeps on giving.
